What I build and how I build it.

Hi, I'm Atnatewos. I build full-stack systems, AI/ML applications, and open source software, with a focus on crafting experiences that feel right down to the details. I currently work at the intersection of symbolic AI and deep learning.
For the past 3 years, I've been working across the TypeScript and Python ecosystems, from performance-critical backends to production RAG pipelines.
I build the things I use. Like pyrpc, which started because I kept writing the same FastAPI and TypeScript boundary by hand. The creator of oRPC, the type-safe RPC library with 5,700+ stars, is supporting its next release. EPrep started with the national university exit exam. The materials were scattered and unverified, and finding them took longer than studying. I had that problem, then asked enough classmates in person to find out that plenty of them had it too. It reached 5,000+ visitors across 30+ universities in five days with no marketing spend.
I co-founded EXP with five friends in our third year, an engineering and design collective in Addis Ababa. We ran client work across web apps, mobile apps, games and design, won the 10th St. Mary's University ICT Exhibition Hackathon, and placed top 12 of 95 teams and 450+ engineers at the Hospitality Hackathon 2026. We also secured a workspace at Dembel in Bole, one of the busiest corners of the capital.
When I'm not building, I enjoy film-making, playing football, and reading theology.
